Max needs a home!
If you are looking for a young, playful, loyal dog who can protect your home – Max is the dog for you. Max is a beautiful and majestic sable colored Gerberian Shepsky (German Shepherd and Siberian Husky mix).

On Thanksgiving day, a couple rescued a young GSD Husky mix who was roaming near their home. They kept him overnight and checked the neighborhood to see if anyone had lost him or seen him. But no one had. The next day, he was handed to the local shelter. Max has a microchip. The phone call from the shelter has never been returned. The shelter housed him for 2 weeks and he was eventually put on the euthanize list. (Note: The shelter did everything they could and we appreciate the great work they all do.)

On 8th December, the couple that found him realized that he was about to be put down. They have a toddler and a large Male GSD and had never fostered before. The couple love Max’s awesome personality and just could not bear the thought to lose this energetic young boy. They contact MIT rescue. Max was pick up from the shelter just hours before he was scheduled to be put down.

Max lives with his foster family in San Jose area. He adjusted himself well, gaining weight, playing with the balls. Unfortunately the foster family can only foster him until the first week of Feb.

We are looking for the individual or a family understanding the responsibility of raising this young and handsome Max. Prior experience with large dogs would be ideal. Easy access to outdoor space/yard would be a big plus as it would allow him to get the activity he needs. Max is patiently waiting for his forever home. If you are willing to foster Max, please contact M.I.T Rescue also.
